This year I was not able to attend VMWorld and while going through number of blog posts I came across this one VMworld Top 8 Takeaways: An Engineer’s Perspective. To me the key takeaways are summarized perfectly and I am just going to list them here; for more details refer to the link above:

1.  Containers will become a first class citizen on vSphere
2.  vMotion to vCloud Air
3.  vCloud Air Object Storage
4.  Site Recovery Manager Air
6.  VMware integrated OpenStack
7.  Project A-Squared (Airwatch and VMware AppVolumes)
8.  VSAN 6.1 release
